Shardashish Fellowship is given by the support of the UNM (Uttambhai Nathalal Mehta) Foundation. The purpose of the fellowship is to provide opportunities to bright and committed students who do not have financial means to achieve their desired education in the prestigious Columbia University, an Ivy League School.
Criteria and Eligibility:
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field from an institution of acceptable standing.
Established commitment to India and its future.
Preference to residents of India.
Must have applied and been admitted to one of the schools in Columbia University and programs below:
Graduate School of Arts and Sciences
MA in Biotechnology
MA in Mathematics of Finance
MA in Statistics
MA in Economics
MA in Ecology, Evolution and Conversation Biology
The Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Sciences – in any engineering discipline
School of International And Public Affairs
MPA in Environmental Science and Policy
Scholarship Amount Details:
The maximum amount of scholarship which can be given to a student is USD $50,000, which is equivalent to ₹38,21,500 (with USD $1= Rs. 76.43 As of 06-03-3022)
The scholarship would be one time only.
The amount received can be used only for tuition and fees and not for travel expenses, accommodation, living expenses etc.
The funding is for one year, the amount depending upon the particular program, level of financial need and application qualification.
Application Procedure:
First of all, there is a need in admission to one of the above-mentioned programs. Then, depending upon the school, there is a different process to go ahead with for the application of fellowship.
