The UK-India Young Professionals Scheme (YPS) 2025 is now open, offering 3,000 Indian nationals a chance to live, work, study, and travel in the United Kingdom for up to two years. This initiative provides young professionals with an invaluable opportunity to gain international exposure and experience life in the UK.
Application Process: Free Ballot System
The application process for the UK-India YPS begins with a free ballot on gov.uk, running from 2:30 pm (IST) on February 18 to 2:30 pm (IST) on February 20. Candidates must enter the ballot to be considered for the scheme, and those selected will be chosen randomly.
Who Can Apply?
For Indian Nationals:
Must be aged 18 to 30 on the planned travel date.
Must have £2,530 (approximately Rs 2,70,824) in savings to support themselves.
Must not have dependent children under 18.
Must not hold a Youth Mobility Scheme visa.
For UK Residents:
Must hold a UK bachelor’s degree or higher qualification.
Must be aged 18 to 30.
Must meet all eligibility requirements before entering the ballot.
Must maintain Rs 2,50,000 in their bank account for at least 30 days.
What Happens After the Ballot?
Selected candidates will receive an email within two weeks after the ballot closes, inviting them to apply for a visa.
They will have 90 days to complete the online visa application, submit biometrics, and pay all relevant fees, including the visa application fee and immigration health surcharge.
Applicants must maintain the required funds for 28 consecutive days, with the last day falling within 31 days of their visa application.
Participants must return to India after completing their two-year stay.
